You definitely need to upgrade the alternator from 90 to 136 AMP to run an electric fan. The 90 AMP just won't cut it. I ran Flex-A Lite's Monster Fan 290. They did a good job cooling my 360.

I don't mean too piss people off but the Power I got (From a dyno result just from a fan change and reduction pulley was well over 10-12 HP on the dyno w/ MPG however not much but need all we can with these 5.9's). Yes electricity takes power to make but its drag that is already present at the alternator and by removing more drag is just smart seems that's why the big automakers have been doing that for years because it does make a diff. that's why we can do it too our older vehicles and to use a PWM such as I have pulls even less electricity/hp off the alt. just making a point and I too raced and have tested this on my circle track cars , It works/ so we do

I have a 260 amp Altenator from DC Power Engineering here in Los Angeles and they make the best instead of those from ebay with Chinese parts in it. You are so right my stock alt suffered when I put the 25% reduction pulleys on and then the fans.
