Default Bushwacker Bedrail Caps/Tailgate Cap Help

So I bought the Bushwacker tailgate cap and bedrail caps. They looked good and were not too expensive. When I went to place the driver side cap on I got it misaligned and not is stuck on there good. I cannot remove it without completely tearing it apart. I got the passenger side on perfect.

I also messed up on the tailgate cap as well. I just threw it away as I had to rip it to get it off.

What I was wondering is, do you all think I should just buy a new tailgate cap and bedrail caps or trim the rail cap to make it work? It hits the tailgate when opening or closer and it is not snug on the rail. The stake holes also do not line up.

Also, does anyone know where or how I could just get the driver side cap?

It is a reg cab shortbed.
