Default buttons on steering wheel

I don't understand why dodge put buttons on the steering wheel to control the center display but no radio control? It would have been nice to have had these buttons do center display and radio. Does anyone else find this rather annoying?

Could be you don't have them on your year and trim. My 13 has them. I can change stations, am, fm, volume etc. Maybe time to upgrade. lol

I was kinda surprised when I hit the up/down and left/right button and nothing happened. All the buttons do is move around the display screen. Seems like someone forgot to program something and nobody was willing to admit it.

Default buttons on steering wheel

It must be an optional feature available with certain radios because I have full audio control on my wheel.

I have the 5.0 radio, maybe it's the difference between the Tradesman and the Express. I think the upper levels have the buttons on the back of the steering wheel as the salesgirl spent a lot of time telling me the radio buttons were on the back of the steering wheel and kept feeling around for them till she finally gave up. She then told me the arrows on the front of the steering wheel were for the radio which I quickly found was also wrong. When I asked her about the rear coil springs and the improvement in ride I had heard about She told me that Ram had discontinued the coil springs in the rear in 2012 then admitted she might be wrong about that too.

You can add them. Just need the buttons and wiring harness, and sales code added to build of RDZ which will allow the stereo to communicate with the buttons. The buttons on Allmopar parts I believe are around 30 dollars each and the wiring harness is around 20 if I am not mistaken. The more expensive part would be the dealer flashing the computer. I believe there are DIY's on this but haven't looked too much into it. I plan on doing it sometime in the future.
