Very nice thread has tons of useful information! If I may add when I took my struts apart to do the Bilsteins, a set of Craftsman Max Axess wrenches will be your best friend. You can put the socket down over the shaft on to the nut and use a combination wrench (on the factory strut) and the allen key (on the Bilstein) to hold the shaft from spinning while you loosen/tighten it!



This is just a pic I found online using both wrenches that come with the bigger max axess kit (a smaller cheaper kit is available in black for about $40). The top of the shaft with the hex end is exposed from the wrench so you can use a regular combination wrench or crescent wrench as that is the way I did it

Great thread. Just one thing to potentially add and that is that the Bilsteins only work on the 4x4 1500s. Not the 2wd variant. Otherwise, well done for such well laid out posts.
