Default Where do you buy your gas?

Hey, folks... Just wondering where you all buy your gas, and why?
I was thinking about starting to buy all my gas at Petro Canada because you can redeem 12000 points to get $0.05 / litre off for 200 litres... Well that was until I realized that you only get 5 points per litre of regular gas, so you'd have to buy 2400 litres in order to save $10.00.
Not very lucrative.
Then there is Irving, who gives Air Miles... (takes Costco Amex)
Then there is Esso, who gives Aeroplan miles... (some take Costco Amex)
And Crappy Tire that gives CDN Tire money...
Wilson's (probably local to NS) who gives $0.03/litre if you pay by cash or debit.
I haven't tried Shell or Ultramar... Not sure what they offer...

Here in NS, gas prices are regulated, so the only difference between these stations are their promotions.

1/2 the reason I have not gone diesel is that we buy all our gas from Costco. They are typically 20-25 cents cheaper then the city I live in and about 5-10 cents cheaper then the dirty gas places like Arco.

From dating a girl that was a patrilium chemist (years ago), the main thing is to get it from somewhere that has high demand so the fuel does not sit in the tanks long. The Costco I go to has two fuel truck deliveries daily and if you go before 9am, at 1030am or after 630 pm, there is never much of a line.

They give 2 cents a gallon on your costco rebates and another 3 cents if you use the AmEx card. Best of all, I have never had any fuel issues. But they do not sell diesel

It really depends on where you live and if we do compare costs we should maybe state the cost in Canadian or U.S. dollars.

I buy all my fuel in the U.S.A. filling up just before crossing back into Canada along with about 3 jerry cans. Additonally it is not like I go out of my way to get the fuel.

I leave Friday for Ottawa, I will be travelling through N.Y. and gassing up at the Reserve for $3.38/gal (USD), this translates to $1.01/L with the dollar conversion. Price in town today is $1.35. For me that is a savings of $34.00 on a full tank.

Depending how much shopping I do in Buffalo and what specials I can grab I also can buy my fuel at Tops, getting up to $0.80 off per gallon that translates to a cost of $2.91/gal (USD), again this works out to about $0.87/L

I buy my gas from costco as well. And I do it for the same reason as stated by Kindanocturnal.

If the gas sits long enough, thats when moisture, sediment, etc can collect. So if (like costco) the gas almost never sits more then a few hours, nothing can really contaminate the fuel. So long as filters are changed regularly.

I use 91 from costco which is around 1.35 at the moment. It's basically the same price as 87 from petro canada/shell, etc.

I wish we had Costco Gas here... I have a feeling that we will never get one as long as gas regulation is in effect here. Stupidest thing the NS government ever did here.

Costco - what's dat?

I always get my fuel from the native reserve. One station has the lowest prices in all of Ontario sometimes, and that's the white man's price.

That's a savings of $28 over buying in town. $1500/yr...

I buy all mine from Shell simply for its superior cleaning agents. Shell also provides Air Miles with every Fill up and sometimes give out 5x and 10x air miles.

Same here. I used to run Ultra 94 from Sunoco in my tuned cars. But for the truck, 87 from Shell is fine. Plus the Airmiles help a little.

Shell or Petro...

i prefer Shell, but use Petro when i can't find Shell. There are really only a couple of Shell stations around my area.
