Have you read any of the boosted posts/threads about the transmission taking a dump on boost? Its about scared the boost bug right out of me! I'm going to call Edlebrock tomorrow to see if they did anything to the tuner to raise line pressure to prevent or prolong this issue, if not I'm going to cancel my order.

I'm down 4 transmissions already since last Summer after adding a blower.
Two of them died within 3 months, Parked it for the Winter (Sept-May)

Both Rebuilt and reinstalled recently, both dead again after rebuild in May.

Vortech Centrifugal Blower very similar to Procharger.

Truck is back to stock while I consider finding a new trans #5
or having my custom built L&M trans rebuilt.
(requires shipping all the way to Delaware)

...if I don't just push it off a cliff first.

I didn't want to believe it at first, stuck my chest out and said "I'll take my chances", but after reading so many horror stories on the trans failure I am really scared now! Its just hard for me to believe that Dodge would put such a whimpy transmission behind that brute of an engine. My truck with minor add ons will chirp a 2nd gear on smooth black top, I guess I will stop doing that now. I have also read on the internet (ASK.com/Google) that the 545 is stout and can handle 4-500 hp?! What to do...

The 45RFE first showed up as a 4 speed auto in the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
mated to an anemic 4.7L V8 that produced a whopping 235 hp and 295 lb.ft. of torque ,
it was never intended to be installed behind the huge numbers we're seeing today 15 Years later.

There have been several electronic/solenoid upgrades over the years to make it a 5 speed by adding an extra OD speed, (545RFE) and most recently a reprogram to add the 2nd prime (kick down gear) into the upshift sequence and calling it a 6 speed (65RFE).

But it's still basically the same 15 year old turd.

Dodge simply added more computer controlled torque management to protect the weak trans when they put it behind a Hemi in 03' for the Ram 1500.
Then they added even more TM when the new Eagle Hemi showed up in 2009, bumping the Hemi's HP rating from 345 to 390.

It wasn't until 2013 that we saw a new trans, the ZF 8 speed
... HUGE improvement in design, but only time will tell if its up to the task of a Supercharger/Turbo.
