I'm gonna ask a questions I can probably find elsewhere on the forum; but since I drive a '97 SS/T I figured why not start here.

I plan on towing a 3600 pound car on a steel (2200 pound) or aluminum (1300 pound) trailer. Since I'm running a 3.53 rear will I have any issues pulling the steel trailer? I will be going over a couple of mountains as I am towing from GA to PA back to GA.

The truck has 111,000 original miles (I purchased from first owner in 2005 with 50,000 miles). She is my daily driver and don't want to prematurely wear her out.

Anyway, any helpful advice would be appreciated.

My guess is you are close, but doable. However to be sure, you need to identify the towing capacity of your truck first. If it is not on the door jam sticker, you should be able to get it through Chrysler by providing your VIN#. From the tow rating you need to subtract any passengers, cargo and your weight over 150 pounds. Once equipped with that info you will know where you stand. I would leave a margin of 20%, since you say you will be towing over mountains.

Hermes - With what you have advised, an aluminum trailer is the way to go. Hate to spend the extra money, but do not want to put excessive wear on the truck.
