Default Fuel tank question

New to this forum. I got my grandpas 95 dodge. It's a 3500 12-valve with a standard cab. I'm not sure how much my tank holds and my fuel gauge is jumping around all over the place. I keep hearing it's around a 35 gallon tank, but I've also heard there is a few different sizes. Any help on knowing how much it holds will be much appreciated, thanks for reading!

The newer fuel tanks have the part number stamped into the tank itself. I'm not sure on the 95 model. You might look at the bottom of the tank for a part number then have youf parts guy check the part number.

35 is right. 26 gallon with the "short-beds". Good on ya on the new truck! Alot of folks still love those 12 valve motors over the newer ones.

12V 5.9 is a sweet motor. Have a 98 2500 4x4 12V 5.9 at my work and is a tank. Also got a 2014 6.7L 4x4 yesterday, so I will be running experiments over the next several months once the 6.7 is fully broken in.

The 12V 5.9L are bulletproof engines, you will love it. I also beleive 35 Gallon is the right size for your tank.

Thanks guys! I know how bad it is to run a diesel out of fuel so just wanted to be sure. And yes I'm loving the truck! One of the funnest trucks I've driven.

I was also wondering what you guys think the gas mileage would be like. It's a manual so I was thinking I could squeeze at least 14 out of it but not sure
