Usually a knock-off is a decent copy. The fit-n-finish is usually not as good. Fasteners tend to be poorer quality. But not always. You get what you pay for, and often, that's the name as well. That being said, it may be good enough in form and do the job just as well. I haven't handled them both to compare.

Update I ordered a cold air intake and a throttle body spacer just to see because so many people have different opinions about them I thought I would order a cheapo and see and if it doesn't work o well I could always sell it. Also had to install a new radiator the stupid design with the clips on the plastic was leaking I took it out and crimped the clips more today and filled it and did a pressure test and it started leaking more o well. I was going to get a stage 2 air intake but didn't see any difference between a normal cold air intake and a stage 2 just price lol.

Yeah, that's the deal. Stock Holley TBI, but it does not interchange with the Holley TBI's on that era's Chevy models.

Yes, it'll be equally useless under a TBI. Good luck finding one that matches the bolt pattern. I see your point, but Mopar's smallblock intake did not suffer the maladies the other makers had regarding the height of the intake. It had a higher profile, so while it will shift the power peak up maybe 500rpm's, you'll basically be trading a little low rpm torque for a little hp at slightly higher rpm's. It's pretty much a paperweight.

You gave lot of good advice, Gen1. FI is a different animal than the old carbs. The old tricks don't translate. "You can lead a horse to water........"

".....but only clever marketing can make it drink."

It's frustrating. They appeal to our nearly universal desire to find that magic pill. Many buy into it. The truth/reality isn't nearly so appealing. Bugpack is in-between with the first generation injected engine, in effect, an electronic carb, with 2 injectors built into the throttle body itself. While it will affect the engine like it would if equipped with a real carb, there's not fountain of HP to be found here, not even a little bit, because the intake has pretty good height.

so true about the "magic pill" I thank you Gen1 for your info. I haven't had a V-8 in over 20 yrs. for the past 10 yrs I've been running air cooled vws.
I have 10 bolts on the rear diff. How can I tell the gear ratio?? since I don't drive highway very much I'm toying with the idea of getting like 410's or 456's to give me the "feel" of more power by in a sense improving torque.
SOrry for jacking the thread

write down your vin number or it should be on your registration

go to your dodge dealer parts department
they will look up your vin number, and they will print out for you all the options that
were built and installed on your truck.
you should have 3 pages worth of options.
