Default Recall Question

Hey,
I just bought a used 2009 Ram 1500 Big Horn Edition. Great deal with only 38,000 miles on the truck. I was wondering if I will receive recall notices on a used vehicle from Dodge or do I have to contact Dodge and have them check if any recalls are out for my truck? I have seen that there is a current recall on something going wrong in the rear end and a recall on the front chrome bumper rusting. Should I just call my local dodge dealer and ask them about this? I did not buy this truck at a dodge dealer (Hyundai/mazda dealer used lot) Any help and insight into this issue would be great

Default recall update

A quick update. I called the Chrysler dealer that is in the same family of dealerships of where I bought my truck and they ran my VIN and indeed I need the rear end recall. They told me they ordered the parts and will call me once they are in. Any advice when dealing with this recall? What should I look at when they are finished? I have heard horror stories about dealerships not getting this recall right or using too much RTV on the rear. Any help is appreciated.

not much you can do other than look at the rear end after you get it back. if they cleaned it up and used the correct amt of seal, you should be ok.

If it is the N08 pinion nut recall, than no sealer will be used.
