Default 2014 f150 tremor 1/4 mile times/vids

Ok first this is not to bash any makes or brands out there and I know this is a dodge forum but I figured I would share it with y'all. I love my express but gotta show this truck some respect. Well my buddy bought a new tremor truck last week. We took it to the track toget some stock times before a mpt custom tune. To start off the truck wheel hops SOOO bad. You can barely build any boost or even do a burnout without it wheel hopping it's ass off. The best run of the night was a 14.301 close to a14.2 with a 2.0 60ft @96 mph. That was barley building any boost off the line. Truck has about 200 miles and is bone stock . Thes trucks make killer power with tunes so it'll be exciting to see what it will run. Probably low 13s.

I'm right there on the MPH but my truck can't get better than about a 2.3 60' no matter what I try. I think the low stall and heavy wheel/tire combo is the culprit. Hopefully getting a 3000 stall and some 17" wheels w/ drag radials or DOT slicks so I can get under 2.0 60' and see what I can do.

What track is this at?

I actually like those trucks for what they are but for the price I can have a really nice Ram. When I bought my truck I said "Ford should make a sport version of the ecoboost w/ single cab". Well I still would have bought my Ram since it's better bang for the buck.

Can't wait to race one. I'm hoping with my new 3,000 stall and some DR's I'll be able to get under 2 sec 60'. BTW, that thing sounds like an old flat head 6 Plymouth with a hole in the muffler. hehe

He got a good deal on the truck . Sticker was 40 but was marked down to 32k. My old express ran 14.2 with a 2.1 60ft with vararam intake muffler delete with 3.55s and heavy srt22s . Our dodges run good but need to be set up right and good weather and god forbid it be hot out side I would loose .5 a second. Look at my YouTube channel to see vids . Truck ram 13.3 with stock tune on a 75 shot. .... And to get a little grudge/test goin my dad bought a 2014 rt ram Saturday so we are gonna set up some races to see what happens with both trucks stock and to see how this new 8speed tranny is gonna do. I think the new tremor is gonna get a little suprise lol

Do yourself a HUGE favour and Skip the drag radial idea and go straight to a dedicated set of slicks like Hoosiers
Your 60' ft time will DRASTICALLY drop and you'll achieve your goals.
It literally takes 15mins with a cordless impact gun to change them at the track.
I ran a 9 sec Subaru on the street drove to the track, swapped to four slicks and dropped my exhaust and ran high 9's low 10's all day, swapped back and drove home
You have no weight in the bed and drag radials MIGHT get you a 10th of a sec hardly worth it...

Just my 2 cents

I kinda have to disagree man . No body on here with the exception of a few really needs slicks. Yeah they are the best for drag racing but most people aren't that hardcore. A good drag radial like Mickey thompsons or some nto5rs are good enough for 90% of the people here . You can drive to track on them and drive home . Get a 3600-4000 stall some 305 Mickey t's and you'll cut 1.8 60fts all day. Tired of seeing these baby 3k stalls that are barely better than stock. No a 3600 isn't as dd friendly but get a lockup converter and you'll be fine you can thank me later.

Just gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.
Personally I don't use street tires for track use. Bad things happen to nice vehicles when caught in the rain on bald or near bald tires.
Having a set of dedicated tires is the only way to go IMHO , having said that the tires you mentioned are about the same or more than a set of slicks.
Too each their own and I agree that drag radials are fine for most....
As far as torque converters go I can't speak to their use in a Ram but I run a 4200rpm stall in my street summer beast with no issues as far as driveabilityl and my father runs a 5500rpm stall in his toy..
In other words... Your preaching to the choir lol
Sorry for the thread jack was just trying to help

Nah we pretty much are on the same page lol.. I wouldn't dd a set of drag radials . That's just an accident waiting to happen. I dd some for a while in my 3valve and was a nightmare when it rained . You deff need a dedicated set of rims / tires for the track . Period. As far as stalls bigger the better IMO haha.
