Default Lights flickering

Ok, here is my situation! I have 2 tens,1500 watt amp,2 farad cap,4 gauge wiring. So when my truck hit hard bass lines I noticed my lights are flickering something awfully bad! So do I need to get a extra battery or upgrade to high output alternator?

Alternator can't handle the wattage. Caps are useless. Get a bigger alternator.

i would try to upgrade you power wire from alt. to batt. and your ground wires..this mod is known as the "Big 3 Upgrade"

This upgrade will only help you...you may need a bigger alt. or second battery but I would upgrade the wires first...

This is just one example I found but there are several on this forum and others...

Big 3 could make it worse since the power consumption would be more efficient. If the wattage is too great on the overall electrical system, the big 3 would just make the flow better. I agree the big 3 is a great upgrade but doesn't treat the actual issue. Voltage x the Amperage draw x amps efficiency = Watts.

I would add both. On my previous vehicle I upgraded the alternator and put a gel cell battery in it(stereo only) and never had a problem.

That's a pretty broad statement that I will have to disagree with...
if your windows are dimming your lights, YOUR electrical system has some issues.
With that being said...OP, your amp(s) may be the culprit too, and the cap is doing nothing for you but that's another story.
Iam currently running well over 2000 watts from four class D amps in my truck and my lights do not dim at all. Iam registering atleast 14.5 volts at all times (including during big bass hits)
I have the factory battery and have done zero electrical mods to the truck.
Different class amps draw more or less power from your electrical system.
Your alternator may not be keeping up with the voltage needs (you can get that checked for free)

Sounds like you got issues. Get some pics of your set up. Your gains could be up too high.
