Default Want to upgrade audio

Recently purchased a 2014 RAM 1500 Big Horn. I did not get the upgraded 9 speaker amplified system. I did get the 8.4 display (NAV ready). My question is what exactly do I have? It sounds pretty good but I feel it's missing a little something. I see that there's a 10 inch Kicker sub available. Would this work with my current setup and what else would you advise? Replace the current stock speakers? I think I would be happy if I could send the majority of the bass to the sub while being able to filter the mids and highs to the door speakers. Any input is much appreciated.

I have the 2012 same set up minus 8.4 inch screen. Most of us pulled the factory sub out and installed all of the other stuff ourselves or audio shop. Audio shop you will spend a lot more than you want.

I have the same 8.4 head unit. I ran a Audiocontrol LC2i off the left rear speaker to 2 12" subs in a fox box under the back seat. But the bass is loud. I upgraded the doors to polk audio 6.5 coax. But am ditching the front for PHD 6.5 comps and just bought JL c2-350 to go in the dash speakers. Hoping to get the balance front and back.

That's one of my issues, I don't even have a factory sub so I am considering buying the Kicker 10 in fitted enclosure. Just need an opinion on adding this (which includes the sub amp) along with swapping out the 6 Mopar speakers with higher quality ones. Essentially I would then have a 7 speaker stereo with amp to drive the sub but no amp for the upgraded speakers I would put in.

I put 2 Sundown 12's in a NetAudio box. For awhile, I contemplated 2 8's or 2 10's, but in the long run, if you do it right, 2 quality 12's doesn't sound boomy in our big cabin, its nice and clean- plenty of deep loud base if you want it and enough clean tight bass for all the cruisin. I would love to snap a couple photos for you, but this is what I am working with right now:

Did you get the SA12? How's the depth in the net audio box? I want to get those into my fox box.

Yes sir, 2 SA 12's and its a sealed box not ported (I did this because I wanted to err on the side of SQ vs overall Dbs)

Paul over there said that 1 cubic ft of space per sub would be good. I really enjoy the configuration, and the people who have sat in the backseat say its really not bad at all. The subs clear the bottom of the seat- ill measure it to see how much exactly. It hit 30 degrees today so now that most of the snow is off my truck I will snap a few pics and put them up later tonight for y'all.

Appreciate it. Yeah the fox box is vented, but those SA12's will probably sound better than the Type R's.
