Cool Lifted RAM's .. 35's or 37's MPG?

Hi,

I was thinking it's difficult to compare apples to oranges so maybe us lifted guys can at least compare macintosh to delicious.

With the equipment in my sig I am averaging 14.3 MPG after 2 weeks of driving mostly HWY on the Trinities 87 octane canned tune.

Currently averaging 15.0 on 35's with Hemi, 8spd and 3.92 gearing. I am thinking of going to 37's and if I can average 14.3, I would be happy.

I'm going off the EVIC. Quick and dirty. As a trend, using it beyond the usual wax and wain I'm gaining a decent amount each week. It's getting warmer as well so maybe that is factoring in.

Be interesting to see if I can see 15 in a week.

good to know thanks.

im also assuming that with your tuner you've been able to correct the speedo based not he tire size, so it should deb as accurate as the EVIC ready can be...which i think is pretty good.

I did use my tuner to calibrate for the 37's but according to my Garmin Rhino GPS there is still an error. It amounts to about 3%. Speedo showing more speed than GPS. That would point to an over calibration which I can live with. Maybe it helps a teenie bit with torque?

Unfortunately the tuner increments isn't fine enough for me to get it bang on. I should start a thread on this error to see if others are encountering similar results. For all I know my GPS needs calibrating, itself *L*

I always hand calculate, every fill up. Now I actually have an app for it in my phone and I keep track of every fill up and what the mileage was.

Var, you should try hand calculating yours and account for that 3% error in your calculation. Depending on which way you're out you could be getting a higher or lower number than what you're calculating now. The EVIC is okay for a stock truck (even then I don't fully trust it) but as soon as you do any mods hand calculating is the way to go.

Sounds good - I'll flip over to doing it that way.

What's the app you have?

Thanks,

Var

It's called Gas Manager. You enter in your total odometer value, total gallons of fuel used, and fuel price and it will give you your average mpg for that tank. Then it also has a stats page you can go into which tells your your total fuel cost per month, total fuel consumption per month, distance per month, fuel price charts, consumption charts, cost per km, distance per gallon, distance per dollar... all that good stuff. I actually find it very interesting to be able to see all that stuff and compare it. I think the free version of the app gives you 10 fill ups and then if you want to continue using it it costs $3.99. I didn't think twice about spending the money to get the full version.
