Default Looking for advice on installing a sub/amp in 04 Ram

Hey guys, I've been thinking about adding a decent subwoofer to my 04 Ram. Just like a 10" or something, but I'm having issues figuring out how to make it all work. I've been reading a lot of posts on the forum but it seems the more I learn and understand there is also more confusion haha. I have the 7 speaker Infinity system with the factory amp. From what I understand, to add a sub, I have to put in an aftermarket amp and somehow bypass the factory amp. The problem I have is I want to keep all 7 speakers working just with a sub, but I also have a factory head unit (REF) from an 07 Ram (with the same harness as the 04 - works great btw just plug and play, but I somehow lost my steering wheel volume controls haha) that I would like to keep.

As I am just looking to add the sub for now (maybe upgrade speakers down the road but out of the budget currently), I understand I will also need an amp. So I'm wondering; what is a decent amp to run the 7 factory speakers and an aftermarket sub retaining my current head unit? And also how many channels do I need for this setup?

Any info and help on this is greatly appreciated.
