Default Alpine 8" to JL 8 "

Does anyone know or think if I switched out the Alpine 8 SUB under my seat with the JL audio 8 if there would be much of a difference or worth it ? would like to use same enclosure if possible. what about an amp ? THANK YOU

To accurately answer your question, we need to know what Alpine 8" subwoofer specifically, and what JL Audio 8" subwoofer specifically. Both manufacturers have a few different model of 8's.
AND, we need to know the type of subwoofer box ported or sealed, and internal box volume of subwoofer box.
And are you asking about an amp to run the subwoofer?

I believe if you use the same enclosure it will sound like straight crap! You can always make a fiberglass box that will sit low enough so you can use your fff. And use a shallow mount sub

I have a JL W3 shallow mount sub in a custom ported box and it sounds awesome. The choice of box is important, ported boxes are boomier where enclosed are punchier so it really depends on what music you play and what your looking for. The stock box will flex as its plastic and will not bring out the best performance of a new sub.
