Default DRL Location 2003 Ram 1500

Just looking for the location of the drl module on line myself but I can't seem to find it.I would like to change it as I am having problems with one day lamps not coming on and also the headlight occasionally on the same side. Some have said it is on the left fender and now the firewall.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thank you for your time.Jeds67

You don't have a DRL module, it's a setting in the Forward Control Module. Here's what the service manual says about it.

DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS
Vehicles manufactured for sale in Canada illuminate the high beam filament of both headlamp bulbs at a reduced intensity when the engine is running and the exterior lamps are turned off. The FCM must be programmed with the appropriate country code for this feature to be enabled. Once enabled, anytime the FCM receives electronic messages over the PCI data bus from the PCM indicating the engine is running and from the EMIC indicating the status of the headlamp switch exterior lighting input is Off, the FCM provides a pulse width modulated voltage output to the proper headlamp bulb filaments through the right and left high beam output circuits to produce illumination at a reduced intensity.

DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS
NOTE: Before performing the following tests, determine whether the headlamp low and high beams operate.
If the headlamp low and high beams are also inoperative, diagnose and repair that problem before attempting
to repair the Daytime Running Lamps.

CONDITION
DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS
WILL NOT ILLUMINATE

POSSIBLE CAUSES
1. Incorrect FCM programming. 2. Faulty FCM inputs or outputs.

CORRECTION
1. Use a diagnostic scan tool to check and
program correct country code into FCM as
required.
2. Use a diagnostic scan tool to test the
FCM inputs or outputs. Refer to the
appropriate diagnostic information.

RogerRamJet

Does this mean its something as simple as changing the country code? I have a Canadian '07 Ram and would like to move the drl's to a different set of lights. Is it as simple as taking it to a dealership and having them change the country code to US or Mexico? If US models can be made Cdn to turn the drl's on can I do the reverse without any issues? I'd hate to fry the TIPM.
I have spoken with a dealer and they will do the change for me but are concerned that changing the code may create other problems?
Appreciate any suggestions or comments!

Honestly Van, I don't know what, if any, problems changing country codes would create. If you're that concerned, I'm thinking you should probably not do it, then.

Thanks for the reply.........
Personally I wasn't concerned but the dealership was.......... and because of his concerns I am now questioning it. I was hoping to find some one that has done it just to get a voice of experience. I think I'll go ahead and have them do it. Thanks again!

Okay, all done!
My truck is now a US citizen! Wish it was that easy for me, I'd move down in a flash lol.
So my country code is now US and the parameter to turn OFF drl's now shows up. We turned off the drl's and EVERYTHING else is functioning normal. It took about 15 minutes.
For anyone that wants to add aftermarket projector lights and swap to a 4 light system and is having issues with all four lights coming on, changing country code works!
I am now going to add a drl module and either add aftermarket lights or add a relay and run switched power to the fog/running lights and make those my drl's. Does any one know if its possible to do this, so the fogs come on when I turn key on AND still have functionality of turning the fogs on via the dash light switch? Or do I have to disconnect the fogs and only use them on the relay as drl's, will this trigger a fault code?
