Default Chrysler's poor handling of tie rod recall.

You would think when you send out an important recall notice that parts would be made available to perform such work. First I had to find time to bring my truck to the dealer just so they could look under the truck and confirm I need the work done. Wait two weeks for the parts to become available, leave the truck there last night and get a phone call in the morning saying they had a truck towed in and have to use my parts to fix it. The truck that broke takes priority. So now it will be another two weeks before they get parts and more time out of my schedule. This is stupid. If trucks are breaking down because of this the parts need to made available immediately not enough for one truck every two weeks.

Excuse me?!?! The broke truck takes priority? WTF! And in what universe does that make sense? How about let's do the recall on the not-broke truck so it doesn't break.

That is not logical at all and makes no sense. Must be a big buyer of vehicles, but that don't make it right.

Don't worry, there's now a recall on the recall so you didn't want that part anyway. I understand the limit on the parts they can order. If you think about how many trucks throughout North America need them it makes sense.... but you'd think that when they started sending out parts would have at least done all the testing on them to make sure they're good.

It's a design problem. It's too small IMO, and I think the angle could be improved

So that explains why the dealer still doesn't have the part almost a month later. I also just got a second recall notice on the tie rod. I wonder if that is the recall on the recall or because I still haven't had the original recall done. I'll be towing my camper 150 miles next weekend. Here's hoping it holds up!

It should hold up. The most common point for failure is in parking lots when you're turning hard apparently. So I'm not too worried about it on my truck... I still drive it normally.
