Did anyone else see the Chevy Impala Daytona 500 pace car explode in flames while driving? I believe this is the way GM is going.......

HA!
That's funny because I have always felt that way about Chevy.

This is great news. I believe it may go back and forth between Ram and Chevy for a couple months, but Ram will eventually outsell Chevy on a consistent basis, and then GM as a whole.

I attribute this in large part to Ram's emphasis on fleet/commercial vehicles that really didn't start until 2008. Obviously the 4th gen trucks are winning over private customers left and right, but try to notice how many Rams you see in commercial roles the next time you are driving around town. The new fleet of ambulances here consists of Ram 4500s, I have seen some Rams owned by the city at construction sites, tow trucks, and I even saw a Ram 5500 armored car 2 weeks ago (it may have been a Loomis truck but I didn't see the company name since it was traveling the opposite way).

ETA: It was a Dunbar truck, I remember the black and red paint scheme. Here's a pic, its weird looking

My Chevy roommate from college seemed upset that the "corvette" Silverado High Country was apparently not enough to keep them from being overtaken by Ram in sales.

I see a lot more RAMs on the road here than Chevys or Sierras. I am pretty sure the price has a lot to do with it. I seldom see a new Sierra and very rarely a Silvy, but there are cases when I see 4 RAMs waiting at the lights totally random.
And just wait for it, now the EC is out and the issues GM is having, it will be even worse next count. Good for RAM.
and have you seen the GM comments? They cant even take it like a man!!!

The Ram, then sold under the Dodge brand, last beat the Chevrolet’s full-sized pickup in August 1999. GM spokesman Jim Cain dismissed the Ram outselling the Silverado, contending Ram was buying market share with incentives. Both Chevrolet and Ram had truck promotions in March.

“The 1980s called. They want their marketing strategy back,” Cain told Automotive News when asked about Ram outselling Silverado. “It’s really easy to deeply discount your truck, mine the subprime market and offer cheap lease deals to buy market share.”

A Ram brand spokesman declined to comment on GM’s view and said Ram will continue to focus on its products.

Their strategy is totally wrong. No 6.2 in a RC, high prices, bad incentives (trying to get that better now, but too late) and their WT or lower trims are really bad. They went for the high margin and they are losing ground. On the 1LT you cant even get the 6.2 or sunroof! The backup camera or the 115volt outlet were not available unless yo move into the 2LT trim, which was already a few grand over the 1LT.

One of the comments on gminsidenews...LOL: "Look at the bright side, the fewer they sell, the fewer they will have to recall. "

So true! Going "mainstream" ruins everything! Crap! Even my 74 Roadrunner is cool now. Before, it was the red-headed-stepchild of Roadrunners. And I liked it that way, cause it was different. Now it's somehow valuable.

Default Ram outsells Silverado in March

If you haven't already heard, Ram sold 42,532 trucks in March 2014 and Chevy sold 42,247 trucks. Do you think some of the Chevy guys are actually trying out Rams before buying? I tried to get my dad to at least look at a Ram, nope, he bought a 2013 Silverado W/T 4.8 with 4 speed for the same price I got for a 2014 SLT Hemi Ram. Wouldn't think of even looking at a Ram.

You bought a 2014 Ram? You aren't getting rid of the '05 after all you've been through are you?

There is already a thread on Ram outselling Chevy here:
