general motors redesigned their pick up with intentions of regaining market share. looks like it didn't work for them.

Y'all act like Chevrolet is about to go under. GM sold more trucks than ram if you count Silverado and Sierras together. The end of the year numbers are the ones that matter. My opinion.

JMHO. The new Chevy is simply "gaudy", and not attractive. It looks like they tried to hang too many things on it that "research" said people liked. It looks like a "whored-up" prom-date! Sometimes less is more. Look back, and did the 94 Ram do it with bling, or style?

Yes, but it was tasteful. I still like the looks of the 2nd gens best.

Yea GM as a whole may have sold more but the Chevy is there main brand, IMO. Around here you will see 15-20 commercials for a Silerado and 1 commercial for the Sierra. I think the new Silverado is ugly as crap, the Sierra isn't bad looking, have always thought the Sierra was the better looking one.
Chrysler as a whole has done good with getting rid of there own competition vehicles, like the Liberty/Nitro and others in a market that has plenty to choose from. My question to GM is why still after all these years are you still competing against yourself in the truck market?
I don't know exact numbers and info but if Ford has had the #1 selling truck an GM is 2nd, if GM had 1 brand could they be #1?
Case in point for me is the RAM brand has come a long way and is finely getting some well deserved recognition.

GM is not about to go under but their sales are losing market share in their first year of a redesign. I would consider that to be a fail. now their incentives may not be that great, but since Ford and Nissan are coming out with trucks that will likely gain market share, then Ram is due for a redesign which, if things continue the way they are going, will be bad news for a truck well into its life cycle.
They'll have to either have an early refresh, or big incentives, or both.
Another thing I would add is the age demographic buying the trucks.
All I see is old guys driving GM's

Style, substance, innovation.
Something they've continued with

I will 2nd that. I have yet to see a teenager or early/mid 20s/30s for that matter driving a new GM, they are all older.
