Question 99 dodge dakota

I'm looking for information on a 99 4-cylander, 5-speed, dodge Dakota. I will be flying out to Washington and will be driving back the 99 dodge Dakota that I mentioned above. I will also be towing a geo-metro through the mountains behind the dodge Dakota that I bought. will it tow the geo through the mountains? also I was wondering what is the average mileage of a 99 4-cylander, 5-speed, dodge Dakota? would a v6 be a better buy?

I definitely would go with a V6 if at all possible. The 4 cylinder is going to be working hard in the mountains.

Towing capacity for the 4 cylinder is 1900 lbs with 3.55 gears. A Metro is around 1800 lbs not counting the trailer. You will be over capacity and driving through the mountains. Maybe in a pinch, you could do it if the distance was short and the grades were flat.
