Default Gen2 seats into Gen 1 truck

I did some very rough measurements and the width seems right to fit between the doors. I'm sure I would have to make new mounting holes. But how much modification would it require to put the 2nd gen bench seat in my truck?

Probably not much. Just the mounting holes would be my guess. If you do it, let us know how it goes.

ok I'm in the same spot you are. I'm puting 98 150 extended cab seats in an 82 D150. Now they do fit and work in back at console. But front and side mount points are 2" off floor pan. Also clearnce below steering wheel is shorter don't know by how mutch. Also with mine the seatbacks rub the sholder harness on B piller. I thought of that though. Now how I got arround that is useing seats from a 98 extended cab. They have intergrated belts. Now I have to figure out how to wire the modual under center console so belts will work right. Currently locked.

Default found solution for wire into module

I know that this is older but I found how to wire in seat belt module for Gen 2 seat so belts will unlock! Red with blue tracer and pink are wired + and black with pink and green with red trace are wired - and ta-da belts work!

It took hours of Google searchs and looking at a lot of half wire diagram's. Finally found it on a diesel forum.

Also a word of advice to anyone looking to undergo a Gen 2 into Gen 1 seat swap and don't want to do a lot of fabrication. Use a 60/40 split bench out of a regular cab. The floor pan is a closer match to the gen1.
