Default 2013 Crew Cab Wiring Schematic

Guys, I noticed that there wasn't any info on the 2013 Ram relating to the audio/video schematics so I went over at Chrysler Wiring Website https://techauthorityonlinedemo.extr...ew/classic.htm

With a little Photoshop magic I pasted all the sections together. I have also included a separate file with all the circuit info eg. colours, guage of wire etc.

The main reason I did this is because of the LOC controversy. Apparently obtaining a true 20-20KHZ is a problem with 2013's so you will need to tap into most of the speaker outputs upstream of the amp (if you have the Premium Alpine setup).

That said, I want to ask any of the forum members that have undertaken upgrading your premium Alpine system if you found any amps under the dash by the emergency brake? The reason I ask is that when I entered my VIN into the Chrysler website its telling me that there are amps there.

I always assumed that the box underneath the driver's seat was the amplifier location.

Update: to preserve the resolution I have provided a link to the schematic:

So I did a little digging around for what is actually under the front drivers seat.

The large black box is for cooled seats (fans, bellows etc) and the other modules attached to the seat are for contolling the heated portion of the seats and for seat position memory. No room at all for amps and such so it makes sense that the amp is up under the dash by the emergency brake (which I confirmed).

Now for the fun part - wiring in a Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.3 to sum the high level speaker outputs. Since I will be adding new amps and speakers (still researching what kind) I am thinking of removing the factory Alpine amp under the dash and using its bracket to hold the 3sixty.3 up front then feeding the amps with rca cables to the rear behind the seat backs. I will be sure to keep the power run from the battery to the amps seperated on the opposite side sills.

Does anyone on the forum have any experience or advice to share about removing the factory Alpine amp under the dash and running the speaker leads from the factory HU to the 360.3?

It looks just like the 2012 wiring... When I did my system I took my truck to a local audio place and had them install my LOC and tune my amp

Here is the problem as I understand it.

In order to recognize a full range signal 20Hz-20kHz you must use a summing type of LOC across multiple high level speaker outputs instead of just one. Thus "summing" all the signals together to achieve a true full range input.

The reason I chose the RF 360.3 is because it does a really nice job at both summing and signal processsing. As a side benefit I want to learn how to tune the sound stage myself.

Nice job on the wiring diagram. You still in the planning stage, or have you pulled the trigger on the install?

Thanks for putting all this together!!

If I am reading this right then the front door speakers are the only ones that do not go through the amp?? That actually explains a lot....

Did you ever confirm? I am having an issue figuring out where to pic front left and right for a MS-8 install. I was planning on summing Left Dash and Left Door in the MS-8 for the LEFT signal. I was planning on using speaker level inputs. Dash says amplified and Doors do not.

Everything else I have read says to do just as you are planning but I have not had time to dig into it yet.

It seems strange that everything would route through the amp except the front (and possibly rear) doors. I found a different drawing that had the pin position labeled for each of the wires leaving the amp but I can't find where I bookmarked the site. When I do I will link it here.

Top of the thread had this:

https://techauthorityonlinedemo.extr...w/classic.htm#

There was also a file I came across called Alpine Premium.txt that someone had put together.

Alpine Premium.txt

I think I have aborted my install for today. I need a few more things. Where I am connecting into the harness the gauge is smaller than the butt connectors I bought. A smarter or more ambitious man would run new wire to all of the speakers. :>)

Good information and wiring schematic. Will definitely come in handy. Thanks!
