Default Clean install of USB cable for use with Goat Mount!

So I got a request for some pictures for how I installed my USB cable for power for my phone when mounted on the Goat Mount.

So, first off you need one of these:

Then you can unscrew the torx screws in the tray:

Once you have the screws undone, gently pry the tray out:

Then if you look at the cubby you'll see:

Feed your cable down the drivers side hole... Then down by your right foot, you'll see a kick plate that you can remove:

And if you look up, you should be able to see light from the two holes in the cubby.
Jiggle the usb cable up and down and around until you can see it somewhere around the area of the kick plate. Grab it and pull it through. Then feed it along the floor and tuck it up under the plastic of the floor console:

And bring it up into your arm rest or to the rear power outlet (if you've moved your fuse to position 91 for always on power):

(I bought a 90 degree USB adapter to help prevent accidental banging of the usb cable by the kids/dog. So far so good.)

Then, depending on the size of the cable you are running, you may have to increase the size of the hole in the tray. I had to use a 5/8 spade bit because I have a coil on the cable:

Once you can feed the cable through, snap the tray back into the console - carefully (put the rear of the tray into the slot first, then I gently pushed on the centre clip and then the two side clips with a flat head) and you'll end up with this:

Make the modification to the rubber tray so you can fit your mount and the usb cable through and place the mount and screw it back in:

And you end up with (which will hopefully win me the dual mount! )

Tried this tonight for my GPS. DAMN that is tight in that tray portion. I didn't have the patience to thread the power down the drivers side tonight. Cut the crap outta my had trying to fish my had up to that try portion. More beers needed maybe.

A few beers sounds like a good start. Then you may want to try (depending on the size of your connector at the end of your cable you may have to go from the top going down) using a clothes hanger and tape. Tape the end of your cable to it. You can also fish from the bottom, just put your wire threw first and connect form the bottom and pull up. Fish the wire threw until it passes at the right spot. Saying all that and I haven't even done my own. I have the duel disk with the GPS and Radar Detector with the wires like you see on the website.
If you going to cut yourself let it be on that can of beer and not on that damn wire. lol

Thanks Duane! I was thinking that same thing. Just do not see room at all for getting it down to the drivers side access panel. Will work on this when I have some time and daylight is not fading.
Thanks again!

Actually there is plenty of room. I've got some pretty big mitts on me and I was able to get the cable down there with very little trouble. I guess everyone's mileage will vary.
