Shot the S&W 500 today for the first time. My hand is still tingling. It is the most violent gun I have ever shot. Picture swinging a 20 pound sledge hammer against a solid block of concrete. That is what the recoil feels like.

Congrats on your two new guns Darth!

That Glock is as reliable as they come! I just can't get comfortable with them. The way they have the grips, I feel like I'm contorting to line up the sights.
I actually bought the XDc .45 Tactical (5" barrel) seven+ or so years ago because of how naturally it pointed. Then I got a 4.25" XDm .40 S&W.

I love S&W revolvers! Mine is a 6" 686 in .357 magnum.

I also have a Colt 70 Series Commander sized 1911. Smooth as butter and a tack driver.

I've got others, but these are my favorites.

The next one going into my collection is going to be a new 1911. Still deciding if I want to get it all customed out from the factory of pick up a base model and mod it as I go.

My carry gun is at the exact opposite end of the spectrum from a S&W 500, a Ruger LCP. I've owned it about 4 months now and its not a bad shooter. The sights are tiny and its a D/A only trigger but with carefull aim you can hit targets at 50 feet pretty good. While a 380 ACP isn't going to double for hunting elephants, I have a wallet holster and it just disappears in my rear pocket. The holster and the gun loaded weigh a little over 1 pound.

I also own a Kimber and they are great shooters but its like carrying a brick.

Guarantee a auto pistol to not jam in 10,000 rounds? That's a joke. I've fired and owned a lot of autos, both rifle and pistol and I've seen only 2 that have never jammed, a Ruger Mini 14 in both cases. One is a friends and the other is mine. I've put a few thousand rounds threw mine and it has never jammed. My Kimber jammed often when new, but it was really tight. After a hundred rounds or so it loosened up.

I have had good luck with both of my Kimber's, couple thousand through each and not an issue to speak of. I am on the hunt for a serious AR right now.

I have gone through about 300 rounds in my XDM 40 3.8 and it's my first pistol to have owned. I bought 500 federal duty rounds from a deputy earlier this year and just put them up in storage for the zombie apocalypse. Bought a level 2 holster and I went ahead and had trijicon night sights installed. It's a beauty and very accurate.

If there's ever a weekend I'm not on call I plan to get my carry license. Louisiana is pretty lax. Who knew?

Take a look at the new Glock 41. Longer barrel on it.

The 500 sure is purdy. I really want one but seems to be more of a conversation piece then something you actually take out and shoot.

Considering the rounds are $2-$3 each I definitely won't be going weekly. It sure does get a lot of attention when I am there though.
