Default Towing car to scrap yard

So I want to tow my jeep to the scrap yard.

It has to go with no tires and gas tank.

Gas tank is simple enough I have no problem dropping it. So anyone got tips with no wheels? :P

well, you either tow it and take the wheels off there or you get a flatbed

That was the plan but they said on the phone I can't take the wheels off on the grounds... Which is kind of odd if you ask me.

I'll try talking to the guy in the yard. He might have a different opinion than the office people. I don't see why they can't just lift it and I'll use my impact gun to rip the wheels offs quickly.

I used to get frustrated because the guys would pull the car in with the lug nuts still on. Then I'd tell 'em to take ALL the lugnuts off do...go do something...come back and lift it. Then I'd discover that they left one lug on each rim....

So I'd set it back down and let them deal with it.

Here when the vehicle is going to a scrap yard
it can't have seats, gas tank, or tires

To get around it, people leave their vehicles on the scrap yard road, key on the seat holding down the signed off Pink Slip ( title paper )
believe it or not, other people drive by the scrap yard & see the abandoned vehicles & load them up & take them home

Understandble about Drew's post. What if you brought it there, and before you brought it into the yard, remove the lugs and just hope it all stays together for however many feet. I would say give the office a call, and just say you will remove the tires as soon as you get it to the yard and take the tires away?

If you trailer it in. Take off the lug-nuts before you get there. Leave the top lug-nut on and pull into the yard. Once you get in the yard, remove the top lug-nut. It should only be on by a couple threads. This way when the vehicle shifts you still may have to use a wrench to get them the rest of the way off, but the operator isn't sitting there waiting.
