Mad props bro!!!!
Thanks autokraftgt!! It was a fun project. I really can't take credit for being innovative. most of this I learned from other smart people and searching the forums, particularly this one.

Fabing and installing your own audio equipment can save big $$$ if you have the time and some decent tools. NetAudio sells a similar box to the ones that I built for $250 per side. Their stuff is top notch but for what I would have spent for their boxes I did my entire build.

how easy was the fiberglass to work with? I've been considering getting into it.

Its really not that bad. Prep and setup are key, especially if you are working by yourself like I was. Mix the resin/hardner in 16oz batches and wear gloves anytime you mess with the fiberglass.

I cut 4 larger size pieces of the fiberglass mat for each box for the wide sides and bottom. I cut the rest of the mat into roughly 3"x4" rectangles. This ruined 2 pairs of cheap scissors so make sure you have some on hand. The small pieces make it easy to work the mat into the corners and contours. If you find that the mat does not stay in place like you want just wet it well with some resin and move on to another section. When you come back in a minute or 2 it will have softened and the thickened resin will help it work into place. You also want to make sure you overlap all these small pieces by a 1/2" or more. This really adds to the strength.

If you have any questions post em here or send me a pm. I'll help you anyway that I can.

There is a YouTube video that I found that was a great resource. If I can find it again I will link to here.

Nice write up and DIY skills. You've totally given me an idea for doing my amp rack and how to clean up the back of the truck. Thanks!

After curing for about 30 minutes the tubs were ready to be removed from the truck. Thanks to the foil they lifted right out

As the fiberglass was curing I started routing the top pieces of MDF for the subs to mount to as well as some trim rings to protect the subs when the seats are down.

I finally assembled the sub boxes and gave the whole system a test run. Man I missed having real subs!!! This things sound awesome. The only real downside is that the fiberglass smell is real strong in the truck. Until...

I coated all exposed fiberglass with the elastomeric coating i used to sound deaden the cab. The result... no more smell in the truck

I decided I would try Plasti-dip for the all the exposed wood surfaces. This being my first time using the stuff I was not sure what to expect. The first few coats really soaked into the edges but one they dried the rest of the coats went on real smooth. Here they are in the truck after the finish hardened. As you can see the truck needs a good detail but until pine pollen season is over there is no real point.
Great job looks fantastic.
