Thanks man! I used fiberglass chop mat. I found in my previous project that the woven cloth did not work as well.

Nicely done! You definitely got better coverage by taking of the inner door panel... I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I was able to get most of teh area covered by cutting into smaller strips and reaching in through the access/speaker holes. I am hoping that covering the inner door panel will help make up for it. Even if not it is still an improvement over what comes from the factory

And again I thank you for the kind words. I have learned so much about this truck on the forums, I enjoy the opportunity to give a little back too.

I was nervous about taking the inner door panel off but you take 3 hex screws out for the locking device. unclick the rod from the door handle and unclip the window and pull it out.

THen it is just unboltt he inner door skin and your done. Its honestly a lot easier then you think, since everything is attached to the inner door skin you only have to remove couple pieces.

Default Upgrading the front door speakers

I finally decided to do something about the door speakers. I went with some Infinity Reference 9632cf's from Amazon. The speakers and Metra harnesses came out to about $75. I figured that they were cheap enough that if they made no noticeable improvement I wouldn't be the end of the world.

Installation was a breeze with the Metra harnesses. Probably 30mins start to finish and that was only because I needed to find longer screws. There were a set of plastic spacers included which I needed for the magnet and basket to clear the window mount... hence the need for longer screws.

Some of you are asking... was it worth it??? Honestly... yes. Even with the odd crossover config being applied by the factory amp... they blend very well with the 3032's in the dash. They add just enough to help fill the gap that developed when I upgraded the dash speakers and sub.

By the pic you can see they are a noticeable improvement of the 'premium alpine' speakers supplied by the factory.

These speakers are just what I needed to keep me from gutting the whole system... hopefully

Bummer. I am hunting an unattached 3032. Having trouble finding a reasonably priced pair. Thanks
