Default Removing Chrome Body Side Moldings

I ordered Chrome Body Side Moldings on a Laramie trim and although the truck hasn't been delivered, I have regretted adding them having seen them on other trucks. I think they're just too much chrome on a truck with too much chrome anyway.

Does anyone have any experience removing these? Are they glued on?

They are put on by double sided tape. If you are willing to sell the chrome trim from the drives side let me know, if you do decide to take it off

You may want to check with your dealer. It might be a dealer install and maybe you can tell them not to install them.

Good advice. I'll give that a shot. Thanks!

Default Heat Gun?

Another post on de-badging mentioned fishing line and a heat gun to remove the HEMI logo and such.

Anyone think this will work with the chrome body side moldings?

The moldings are factory installed.

Yes the heat gun and fishing line will work just fine. Main thing with a heat gun is don't focus on one spot for to long. In the end it will just take some elbow grease, time, and maybe a good 3M tape remover.

Yes - definitely use the 3m adhesive remover if you go that route - it kicks ass on the other stuff (Goo-B-gone, goof-off, etc….)

This is a great forum. What starts off as one dude seeking advice … and getting it with multiple solutions to a problem... ends with a couple other dudes helping each other out by giving away un-needed parts for the cost of shipping. Great Forum!
