Default Aftermarket transmission, Is it worth it?

I've been wanting to do some major mods to my truck for a while and this winter will be my chance to do it I convinced myself to do an edge TC also been looking at maybe aftermarket transmission options and if it's worth the money. I know ATS diesel performance makes one for the 2009 it's basically a beefed up 545RFE. Overall it seems great but I don't wanna spend 2500 bucks on something that the stock one was just as good

Try the tc for now, unless you plan on big hp and torque gains imo

But in all seriousness, what "major mods" are you planning on doing this winter? There are a handful of things you can do that you don't need to replace your tranny for. A TC def isn't one of them. Unless you plan on going with boost you probably don't need to worry about a new trans.

I think you would be well advised to read up on the ATS transmissions and their customer service. Their reputation isn't very good and there have been more than a few complaints. L&M transmissions are suppose to be far superior. You'll like the results of your Edge TC.

If you're gonna mod I'd get a trans. There's even been a couple guys blow their stock trans with bolt-ons.

I've sprayed a lot of nitrous over the years, run a hot cam and a 3,000 rpm Circle D converter. All I've done is run a Sonnax line booster, raised shift points to 6200 and "hemifever tune" I don't know what my dynotuner and hemifever did to the trans, but it shifts perfect, firm and right now. 202,000 miles.
