Default Rear Diff. leaking front seal

I have a 2002 Ram and my rear differential is leaking from front seal. It is
squealing all the time now , I started putting in 85-140 gear oil but didn't affect it at all. So with the noise now does the it mean it needs rebuilt or replaced ? Which is the cheaper route ?

Most places will just replace them now days. If you can find a Mom & Pop shop, they may rebuild it for you, if it's worth rebuilding. But if you're pinion seal is leaking, my guess would be that your pinion bearing is shot. That may be all you need to replace.
