Default Photo Journey For Uconnect Updates

Moderator, maybe make this a sticky.

Brief tutorial on downloading the Uconnect updates. I do not use Safari, so I cannot comment on how to download using Safari.

Internet Explorer - Unable to download using IE
Firefox - Unable to Download using Firefox.

These photo lessons are using Google Chrome, the only One I could get to work:

Uconnect Site to determine if you qualify and to start the process:

This is most excellent. Thanks alot bud, I will def be trying this. I was using Firefox on my PC laptop and the site wouldnt load the downloader. I will try this using Chrome when I get a chance!

If you have not installed the Akami downloader, and go through the steps, once the downloader installs, do you just go through the motions with the installer to get the file to download? Also, there is NOT any extracting required, right?

Thanks alot. I may even try this in the morning when I get home. I'm too exited now, lol

As far as I know this is all done once you get the *.exe file.

However, I have posted before that the update crashed my system but for others it appeared to work. I have not tried again since then so I really have no idea if I did something wrong in the vehicle itself.

I just thought that since problem issues are probably 50/50 and the majority can not even download then it was time to do a photo makeup of what they should be seeing.

EDIT - I just downloaded the MAC version to see what sort of file one was getting. The MAC version is a *.ZIP file that then has to be extracted and you do get an ISO file in that version being "swdl.iso"

I got this to work with Windows 7 and IE 11. Here is what I did:

If you have tried doing this before you will need to kill the Net Session Client that is probably running on your PC. Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE. Click on Start Task Manager. Find the process named netsession_win.exe *32 and right click on it. Click end process. Click yes when prompted. There are at least two of these running. After you kill one it will restart. Kill it again and the second one.

Delete the Installer.exe file if you already downloaded it.

Open IE. Go into the Tools menu by clicking the icon in upper right corner that looks like a gear. Click on Internet Options. Uncheck Turn on Pop Up Blocker.

Go to https://rsur.extra.chrysler.com/rsur/Uconnect.do

Go into the Tools menu by clicking the icon in upper right corner that looks like a gear. Click on Compatibility View Settings. Chyrsler.com should be highlighted in the window that pops up. Click add.

If prompted to view secure/unsecure content click YES.

Follow the directions. It should work now. If it doesn't try closing IE and starting over.

Don't forget to re start your pop up blocker. Also, this friggin net session program will run all the time now so you will need to kill it like instructed above AND with MSCONFIG Startup tab. It is listed as Akamai Net Session Client.

I got it to work on my macbook pro with Chrome. Followed the instructions from rcmpvet, and worked great! Didn't try any other explorer.

This is the issue with Internet Explorer.

IE8 is installed on Windows XP and IE11 installed on Windows 7.

I have never seen that screen on any site. What is your antivirus software?
