They might tweak the motor...maybe 400hp/420ftlbs. They are gonna add some tech. Wouldn't be surprised to see Adaptive speed control, trailer mate software, blind spot monitoring, LED bed lights and they very well might add a couple of class exclusive goodies. Maybe a few special edition trim lines.

They need to counter Fords tech bedazzlement thats coming out on the 2015 F1 fiddy. They better if they want to continue the sales success.

I think everyone else is wise to see how the soda can bodies work out on the new Fords.
Chances are 50/50 that the aluminum body makes it past one generation, much less a mid gen refresh.
I dont think FIAT/Chrysler can afford the change to aluminum anyway.

My buddy works for Alcoa. Ford and Alcoa have worked this aluminum thing out pretty nicely. I think it will be revolutionary for trucks! I guess time will tell. But Ford was able to trim over 700lbs off the current F150. I think that will be a big benefit for just about everything; mpg, towing, power...etc.

The Al is quite a bit but not all of the 700lbs. The redesign and other tech helped too.

This is whats confusing. I have read:

2015 - Minor Update
2017 - Major Update
2019 - Complete Redesign.

Is 2017 a major update like 2013? Then that means 2019 the the Gen 5?

That is incorrect. Read their claims closely. They claim UP TO 700lbs. Depends on what cab/bed configuration, 4x2 or 4x4 and what trim level. All will yield different weight savings. And they've yet to put any of these trucks on real world scales. As of RIGHT NOW, its all marketing BS. Remember Fords last marketing mumbo jumbo...EcoBoost...V8 power with V6 mpgs....yeah right!
