Personally I'm not a fan of lowering trucks...BUT in this case, it will depend on how long I keep it and what direction I want to take it when it no longer HAS to be my daily driver. Improved handling would have be on the mod list.
I have a buddy who has an old Dakota R/T that he runs autocross. He can really help me out on this.

I havent been this smitten over a freakin vehicle in years....and believe me Ive had a crapload of vehicles. Our ROUSH Mustang didnt even trip my trigger like this truck has. Its been a complete surprise.

I was bitten by the R/T bug as well. I know the feeling. Love being back in a regular cab as well. Great for city traffic and the turn radius is excellent.

You got that right. I haven't had a regular cab for YEARS. It's much more nimble. This truck is just such a joy to drive. It's also one of the very few regular cabs that you can get with tons if creature comforts as well. That's a huge plus for me.
Just an added bonus to this truck that Ive noticed so far is the excellent mpgs, which is nice because I run 89 octane 100% real gas, so it helps offset that extra expense. I keep pinching myself to make sure it's not a dream. Lol!!

I'm a Ford guy at heart so I looked a t a Tremor as well. Only other regular cab that had an upgraded interior and even that wasnt that good. Also not liking the complexity of twin turbos. The price was way out of line. they wanted $42k for a 4x2 and even had limited availability markup added on top of that! I'm very happy with the R/T and probably wont be back to Ford unless they start to make regular cabs in trim above XLT.

Yeah, Until pretty recently Ive been a Ford man for over 20 years. My wifes truck is a 13 F150 XLT 4x4.. so Im familiar with them still. I will personally not consider Ford again unless they stop pushing Turboed V6s on truck buyers and start getting serious about making their V8 more powerful and more efficient.
when and if that happens, I'll give them a look. Until then its RAM for me, At least RAM is giving folks what they want. Unlike Ford who is telling people what they are gonna get.

I also looked at reg cabs Fords with the 5.0. The trim levels were a joke. Except Tremor and Im not paying that much for a truck with a V6 in it.
I did find a Roush version reg cab Ford. It still had that Crappy interior but it had 500+ HP and full suspension mods, exhaust,, ect....but the price totally defeated my purpose.
The RT was just meant to be.
