Default Dented tailgate, need options

2010 silver ram 1500.

The top of the tailgate has a dent on it, nothing big but it is just under where the plastic piece is. Friend of mine opened the tailgate and it came down on something and put a dent in it. One guy said it would be about 150 to fix. I looked online for a new tailgate but can't seem to find any for a 2010, called a junk yard and they wanted 400 for a white one with scratches.

Would rather replace it if I could and if I could find one for a good price.

If the dent isn't that bad just get it fixed at a body shop.

Sounds like I have a dent similar to yours. I've avoided getting an estimate because it's probably going to scare me. I just covered the dent and chipped paint with plasti dip. In fact, I just did more paint damage the other day taking 8' railroad ties out of the back of the truck. So I literally just finished plasti dipping top section of the width of the tailgate. Came out pretty good - but you can still see the dent.

For the $150 it sounds like they will just pop the dent out. That is pretty cheap to strip, fix, sand, paint and clear coat. If it is the right kind of dent they will just stick a rod in the access panel and push it out.
