Question Bully Dog Hemi Plus Tuner 40430

Hey I've done some browsing on the threads and I've seen a lot of members are leaning towards the diablo sport t1000 tuner. I am currently looking at the bulldog hemi plus tuner but I have a couple concerns. Is there anyone who has had issues with it? I had one in my old silver ado and it worked great. I'm not a huge mods buff but I'm looking for a tuner to reduce the TA management and so the truck has a little more get up and go and possibly mpg. I'd only be using the preprogrammed tunes and not changing other settings other than top speed. Also I notice it's and 87tune or 91 tune option. I run 89 as recommended does using the 87 tune harm the truck at all I will most likely still run the 89 I just don't want to use the 91 for my daily drive as I put 40 miles on a day. Thanks for the help.

I'm in the same boat as you. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I like quality products, so money isn't a problem. I just need something that will function properly.

from what I've been told and learned the BD has better canned tunes and the DS's are better for custom tuning. BD for basic bolts-ons DS's for both bolt-ons and major mods (cam, P&P, heads, borexstroke and forced induction)

I liked using the BDGT on my 2012. Better throttle sensitivity and good transmission shift programs.

I have the BD in my truck and have been running it for over a year. No issues with a noticable performance increase on the normal tune. I bought it to shut off MDS which in my opinion makes the truck run better. I took the tuner out of my truck for a vehicle inspection and drove it stock for a few weeks and was able observe the lack of performance without it.

Well I bit the bullet and installed it yesterday left the MDS on, took of the speed limiter, increased rev limiter and put on the normal tune not performance. The truck is way more responsive and what not and the shift points are awesome. Only thing is I still can't squawk my tires from a stop even when i take the TC off. Is anyone else experiencing this. Also for those of you with the MDS off how is you lifers/100km any difference in fuel milage. Thanks

Brguzz which gear set do you have?

This is good info. I'm sitting here ready to jump with DS and I'm reading BD is better for "canned tunes". What to do? I'm in the exact same boat with you man - my 390 hp 2 door short bed truck with 3.92 gears won't turn 'em over from a dig. It's embarrassing. I just want it to break 'em loose and run like it should. My gosh, every 5.9 I ever owned would nail it off the line. Not this pig. Varaam super duper intake, ported TB - still - no joy.

Crazy how some trucks won't spin the tires.........I spun em on a 25mph roll next to a newer Chevy Work Van that kept lunging on me so as to entice me. I was surprised that I could get em to break while rolling at 25. The work van guys were all smiles, as was I. I am driving a 2014 Hemi Reg Cab 4x4, 6speed Long bed with 3.55's and am currently rolling on stock steels with 265/70-17's. So maybe that's what's allowing me to burn em out easier. Maybe...........

Wow i have a stock 2009 crew cab 2wd with 3:21 gears, and the stock 275-60-20's and with the t/c turned off it will fry em all the way through 1st gear! In fact I let off just before it shifted to stop spinning.
