Don't use 4wd. While my truck is an 05 without traction control, I'd bet you could leave traction control alone and play around with how fast you give her the gas. If the track does good prep, you can probably just nail it right off the line. My Ram has limited slip and launches pretty good, minimal spinning. On the street it will spin both tires for about 75 feet, but at the track, it hooks and goes. My friends with modded Cummins have to use 4WD, because of the massive torque. Use good fuel, try for only a quarter tank, I tune for 93 octane. Take everything out of your truck, tools, jack and spare tire. Perhaps pump front tires to max rated pressure, rears around 32psi should hook up nicely. If you want to really kick ass, a little 100 hp shot of nitrous, can make that 6,000 lb whale wake up.
If you have "Tow/Haul mode, you might try a run with that engaged. I raised my shift points with a Diablo tuner to match my cam, 6200 rpms. If you dyno your truck and find peak power close to shift points, perhaps it might help to raise .
