Default Rough, Jarring Ride in an 05

Hey y'all this post is for my dad's 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 2wd w/ 4.7L.
I had an 04 Laramie that drove pretty nice, handled potholes and bumps rather well, never touched the suspension other than getting the ball joints and sway bar links replaced.

Dad's truck we replaced the shocks with monroe OEM replacements and still it has a ride like a forklift over any bumps. Any ideas where to go from here? He has 17" rims with a decent amount of sidewall in the tires. Its not loaded down to the point of bottoming suspension out. Momma just wants to be able to ride in it without needing a chiro visit!

Only thing that I can imagine, would be the tires. Heck, I have Rancho 9000's cranked to the max and rear springs from a 2500 and my dad swears it rides better than his new Silverado.

The OEM replacement style are twin tube design, and if the diameter isn't very big then you've gained nothing in the swap if the old ones weren't leaking or blown. Chances are that something like the Sensa-Trac or Reflex would be more along the line of what he's looking for "ride-wise". The Gas Magnums would be a good choice if but it's probably going to be stiffer than the other two, but better than what you've got.

Hope that helps.

Luke

I'll do some researching, he's got an intake gasket leak he's gotta work on right now. I'm mainly doing this for momma cause her van is getting up there in age, so they take the truck. He don't take care of the damn thing so i do what i can.
