Default I ruined a fender flare on my new 2014 Laramie, HELP

Good Morning,

Well I bought my 2014 Laramie QC 4x4 just a little over 2 weeks ago and when I was pulling out of my underground parking I cut it too sharp and bam the fender flare is beyond buffing. I am such a cautous driver but hey we all make mistakes. Literally chunks came out. Thank goodness it didn't hit the body of my new ram. I am sick to my stomach.

Question: Can anyone help me find a place to order just 1 painted (Bright Silver) Laramie Fender flare? Or should I just call my local dealer?

Thanks in advance,

Darren

Call the dealer, get the right part number, then see if you can find it online less expensive.

Thanks for the insight. I checked online and then at the dealer. The flares have to be painted. $150 for painting and $224 for the flare. I wonder if a body should could repair the flare? My other half says no because it is plastic. I am attaching some pictures of the damage.

Ouch, that's too bad. I'm no body shop expert but I've always been told that it's easier to replace soft plastic pieces than to attempt to repair them.

You could take them all off until the new one is ordered or it comes in.

Well I have seen worse. Seeing as you are willing to replace, I would go ahead and sand it down and see how it looks? start with 800 grit wet sand.
worth a try.

Experienced body tech here:

Don't bother having that flare repaired. It's definitely repairable, but NOT on a brand new truck, especially when a new flare is so cheap (remember that body labor runs $80+ per hour and would probably be 2 hours in the repair, plus paint labor).

On an older vehicle, sure. There are plenty of good products out there for plastic repair, however over time there is a chance of the filler shrinking or warping.

Find a reputable local shop and they can most likely match the flare better and at a lower cost than the dealership.
