Default Truck Battery Suggestion

After sitting for 12 to 13 hours at a time not running when I go to start it the truck seems to hesitate to turn over. I am thinking that it is the battery as I only live 1 minute from work so the by the time the battery has time to charge its time to turn the truck off and then it sits for about 12 to 13 hours without running.

Any suggestions as to what battery I should get? I am not looking for something too expensive but durable enough to handle the load of having several two way radios and other electronics running with the truck off.

Check out odyssey batteries stay away from optima made in mexico and quality is not what it used to be. i have run an odyssey in my truck for awhile plenty of crank and its designed for deep cycle automotive use.

Have you given thought to some kind of Battery Tender ?
I would go with a Solar Powered one that you could lay on the dashboard & just roll it or fold it up when it is time to drive somewhere
some of them can be plugged into your cigarette lighter or clamped directly to the battery itself

If I lived only 1 minute from work, I would walk to work and keep a battery charger on the trucks battery.

GT,

Never thought about it. It is probably a more cheaper alternative to buying a new battery. My biggest issue with the solar powered option is that I work nights and my truck is kept in the garage. I thought about buying one of those battery tender systems that they fabricate into fire apparatus to keep them going. Maybe one day tho.

I did take my truck the auto shop on base and they tested my battery. It is good but for as much as I drive it tho it doesnt stay charged.

I will be taking it into the dealership as I now have the ABS and Traction Control warning lights lit up on my truck.

Truck is in the shop for a bad wheel sensor. Yesterday the ABS and ESC lights just came on out of the middle of nowhere. Thank god for warranties. They are also going to check the battery issue.
