Angry Cheap Chrysler chrome cladding!!!!!

Okay we all know those of us with chrome wheels actually have just chrome cladding. Mine still look pretty good from a distance, but the cladding is peeling around the edge (like where balance weights go). I'm way out of warranty. Wondering about checking inot having them chromed locally or just buying some aftermarket Cragar's. I like look of my wheels, but......

PVD chrome is a very popular and much more affordable method of achieving the chrome look, it is a lot easier to maintain as well. But it does have that downside of peeling and cracking.

Understood. Has anyone successfully had the wheels re-chromed...repaired?

I believe it can be repaired and recoated, you would just have to find a local shop that does it.

Fords wheels are the same, it seems the OEM's have all gone to these steel wheels with a plastic facia that is chrome clad and the plastic chrome is soft and has very little durability at all

IMHO I would get new aftermarket wheels. Unless you know a powder coater, or plater that can get you a deal. Aftermarket wheel can be a fair deal. I thought about taking the clads off and powder coating them, but you have to find a center cap then. (saw one online that someone used) Not worth all the effort. Especially with the prices in the USA for aftermarket.
