I have a little 2013 RCSB with the 4.7 in it,but this might interest everybody.
Since new,i've always thought the truck ran hotter then it should, had it into Chryco about it,but they said it was normal.
Truck always ran 215 or higher, even pussy footing around on cool days.
Finally got around to getting a Jet 180 for it,figuring the stock thermostat was a bit to hot for my liking.
Pulled my stock orginal thermstat out tonight, and in between the coils of the thermostat was a honking big gob of Chyrco's fancy grey RTV silicone.
It had been there from when the truck was assembled i'm guessing,as i bought the truck new.
Still put the Jet one in,so i don't know if removing the silicone lump would make any differance, but i'm assuming it should,as the lump was preventing the thermostat from fully opening.
Also had more casting sand come out of the motor then i thought there should be.
After my drain pail sat for a few minutes,i think you could of made a beach
Just a heads up to everybody
