Default truck revs slightly after cold starts

Lately every time I start my truck after its sat for a few hours it will rev a few times like I'm giving it quarter throttle?

I've had multiple tanks of fuel through it since this started and I've cleaned the throttle body. The spark plugs were changed last year.

Kinda embarrassing when leaving church or a funeral lol

Hi Dodge ram,

How many miles? Have you ever checked the fuel filter (just curious)?
TPS, MAS, Idle sensor, any codes?
All things to check and that can cause surging.
Hope you get it sorted,

preachp

There is no codes and I was under the impression the fuel filter is inside the gas tank and not serviceable.

I had a 2000 Dodge Ram that would do this exact same thing. I swapped out the TPS and it returned to normal.

I noticed mine did the same a while back and posted something on here. People commented of having the same thing happening to theirs. It's not a bad throttle, just a little more than, like you said, after it's warmed up. I still notice a bit but not sure if it does it so much now or if I've gotten used to it. I haven't noticed any problems with the truck though.

My tach is effed up too so I'm not sure. Usually it reads 0rpm when normally driving.

They all have the RPMs held at a high idle until the truck warms up a little. It is usually under a minute. If, on the other hand, the RPMs go up and down until the truck warms up it may be an issue.
