Default unsatisfying drag times

My apologies in advance if this isnt the right place for this thread. I have the 5.7 liter 2012 express cc.
I went to the track for the first time yesteday, Ive had the truck for 2 years now. My 1/8 mile run was a unsatisfying 10.22 @70mph.
Im just looking to gather comparions to see what some other trucks are running because Ive seen other folks say they been high 8s and low 9s. Maybe my expectation was to high. Any positive feed back would be greatly appreciated. MOPAR OR NO CAR!
I also towed a 16ft trailer to drag strip with 4 bikes. I dont know if that would have effected performance

Express model factory 20 inch rims
Muffler swaped for a y pipe
Bulldog tuner
K&n intake
Those are my only mods. I just feel like I'm not putting down the proper horsepower. I will admit it's my first time at the track and my reaction time was pretty bad .

heat really kills these things and towing on the way there you were plenty hot at least an hour cool down with hood open is required temp out side is also huge good luck next time

I'm not completely sure about elevation. Google shows 600ft...Mr first couple runs were probably 85 to 90 out and my last few runs the temp was just under 80 but my truck intake temp was at 140. There were so many cars out there they were letting off lots of heat.

85-90 degrees at 600 feet is probably 3000 da or so and running at full temp slows you down big time. Try letting it cool down and run it like that with traction control off and tow haul on. Race with a 1/4 tank of gas and take out as much weight as possible. Guys running low 9's on a cc are running like that plus extra mods or they have the 8 speed which is showing to be awesome for these trucks

sounds about right for a stock truck. any slip off the line adds tenths to your time. how deep were you staging.

I don't want to like to an idiot. So ill be honest I understand the staging process but not completely sure how deep I was? Also I have a after market intake and a bullydog tuner....I just wonder if maybe my shift points aren't set accurately? I'm going back 2moro night and not towing the bikes so I'll take all the advice you experienced his give and apply it.
