Default Oil Change on Eco Diesel

I have read on an other fourm that this guy who owns a commercial diesel fleet has a Ram Eco Diesel and he recommends to use Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic oil (made from natural gas) . He also adds 1 qt of Lucas synthetic additive. Does anyone out there have a educated opinion pro or con on this concept?

Just following the recommendations from the manufacturer will be enough. No need for getting fancy.

Yep, I agree. Although I would like to know if this guy has any credibility and what he was seeing in his fleet to make the recommendations he has made. I thought Chrysler was equipping it's trucks with Pennzoil Platinum and if so I would imagine they have done so and recommend with the Ecodiesel. Maybe not? Just a thought.

Ram is pitting in pennzoil synthetic ultra not pennzoil platinum. This fleet guy says Penn Platinum is made from natural gas not from crude oil. There for its cleaner and no crud or soot. Burns much cleaner.

I'd mean to factory synthetic until the platinum is confirmed to meet all specs. Though I recall it was missing a spec. The ultra syn should be a great oil.

I will be putting the Pennzoil Euro L or Mobil 1ESP in my EcoDiesel - Which ever has the better price.
