Default 2in leveling kit tire size?

Getting my new 14 ram tomorrow!!! Wanting to put a 2in leveling kit in it and 295/70r18 (34.5x11.8) nitto trail grappler with a +00mm offset wheel. Was just curious if the 2in leveling kit would be enough or would I need a 2.5 with that tire size. I would like to stick with the 2in the 2.5 seems to much maybe not?(guys that have them if you could chime in).

Looking for same setup as this guys truck but he don't state what his shocks are set at.

Thank you,
Kyle

I just put on 35x12.5x18 Trail Grapplers onto a 0 offset (5" BS) wheel (9" wheel) w/ a Hell Bent Steel 2.5" leveling spacer. Every truck can be a little different. Some have had issues w/ 2" spacer, some have not for 35". You should easily be able to fit 34.5x11.8 w/ a 2" spacer.

Why not go with 2.5" and 35x12.5?

Was worried that 12.5 would stick to far outside wheel wells. I don't plan on running fender flares and also I read somewhere that with 2.5in spacer it gets rid of any rake so with a slight load in the back the noise is in the air. Also how so you like your hbs spacer I was looking at them or ready lift but ready lift is pretty pricey compared to hbs. Curious your signature says you have 295-70-18 nitto tg is that what your running now or did you switch to 35x12.5?

HBS spacer works fine. I was going to do Bilsteins but they are on backorder for who knows how long. I had it on my old truck and threw them on the new one till I can get some Bilsteins.

As far as rake, its pretty much removed. I had all 4 stock wheels/tires in the bed and it did not really effect the height. If you tow or load the bed up often, Id definitely put in some 1.5" spacers in the rear.

The tires stick out about 2". Ill need some fender flares but I think even with 11.5" wide tires you may want some as well (maybe not though). My sig is old, Ill get it changed. Used to have that setup but I traded that truck in 2 years ago. Now I traded my Grand Cherokee in for another Ram.

Do a search on ball joints popping do to leveling on 13-14's. There's a lot of reports of this happening and a lot more opinions on the subject. Do some research and make sure you're comfortable with this.

The thread in my signature will answer all your questions including my thoughts about the ball joint popping (posted on the last page).

Thanks for the info about the ball joints. Ill keep an eye on it. Would suck to have to order new UCA for something so dumb but there is no going back now. Wheels/tires already on!

Ill definitely watch out for it although I am not running out to purchase new UCAs.

I actually had the ball joint problem with my current 07 ram that is leveled. At the time I couldn't figure out what caused.... Now I know luckily it was covered under warranty. If I go biilsteins can I do just front or should I do rear to. Seems like it would be smart to do all four at same time. Just a shame the shocks I will be removing with have about 100 miles on the.

Looked at my ball joints today. No issues initially.
