Default My new Milan travel trailer

Hey Guys,

Brought home my new travel trailer today. Looks real nice with the RAM. Towed great. Of course, this is as big and as heavy as I dare to go. I also have the 3.21s. Wish I had realized that when I purchased the truck and I would have ordered the 3.92s. Will make it work though.

Very nice. I would love to know more and see more pics of the travel trailer. I too am inthe market.

I bought the 3.21 knowing I would look for a travel trailer.

Dont get me wrong the 3.92 will get you off the line a smiggin faster but the 3.21 will do better down the road.

Your truck will make the same or should I say enough rwhp and torque. It really just comes in to peak at different rpm ranges.

I have had the 3.92 and the 3.21 and the 3.21 with the new 8 speed feels as strong as my 3.92 5 speed ever did and my truck is rated higher in towing than my last. So no worries.

Guys I understand gearing, but at my age I understand having more than I need. what I needed more was gas savings a bit and "a little less of a fun factor" . I have no doubt in my choice knowing I am getting a travel traler.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The wife and I are looking forward to some fun camping adventures. Tomorrow we are going on a local camp out just to test all the systems and practice towing. Should be a good time!

Earl,

Here are some pics of the inside. You'll find that 99% of all TTs have a very similar look and feel to them on the inside. There are only so many brands and they all source materials from the same suppliers. It kind of boils down to floor-plan, bathroom design, decor and price.

I had a long checklist for mine:
- External appearance that looked good with the truck
- Chrome or custom looking wheels
- No heavier than 6500lbs dry
- 26ft
- A good size slideout
- Rear Lounge floor-plan with rear window
- Darker wood
- Glass shower with no tub (more headroom)
- Outside speakers
- Extra large water tank (never know when you'll be in the boonies)

I managed to tick all my boxes so I went with the Milan. I also really liked the new Coleman trailers. The looked nice on the inside and outside. There were others that we really likes, but they can get pricey.

Thanks guys.

This trailer was listed for $31K, I got it for $25,750. But I bought a service plan and the special Perma-Plate coating plus the WD hitch. So my total cost was about $28K. I put a small portion down and financed the rest. Got 5.5% from the bank.

There seems to be some real negotiating room on trailers. I could have gotten a nice NEW 24ft for about $21k. Even cheaper if you got for anything below 22ft. Just need to shop around and be cheap. I live in SoCal and there are a lot of dealers to choose from. Might be that way in other parts of the country.

I know I could have gotten a better deal taking some more time, but I was sick of looking (been looking for 3 months) and the longer we looked the more the wife and I had different ideas of what to get. Needed to make a deal.

Honestly, my trailer is about average for what you get. All of the major manufacturers have similar decor and floorplans. I looked at so many trailers I can tell you when they were made by the upholstery. Trailers of the 80s, 90s and 2000's all have distinctive looks. In 5 years my trailer will probably look horribly dated.

It's super hot in SoCal today and Edison turned off my A/C in my house to save energy. Time to go sit in the trailer and crank the air and camp on the curb this evening. :-)
