Default Ram725 SEMA 2014 Build

Alright guys, figured I would do a complete build thread of my SEMA project this year. Now I know a few guys will hate on it not being a Ram. However, I've been a part of this forum for years, support the forum through funds, and have been active on and off. I drove 5 Dodge Trucks in a row and figured it was time for Something different. This forum is all I know so I figured Id stay around.

For those who know me, I originally bought a new 2012 Ram 2500 Cummins to do a simple 8" build on. But after some engine issues at under 1000 miles that multiple dealers couldn't figure out, I sold it.

Now I have a 2012 Ford F-250 Lariat FX4 that I am building for this years SEMA show. It will be a featured vehicle of booth #37073 (ShowTime Metal Works).

This started off as a simple 3" on 35s. I was then going to order an 8" and run 37s; but after thinking about it and talking with the guys at showtime I decided to do a full out build which then turned into a SEMA spot.

Build list so far

Suspension:
14" STMW Suspension lift
14" Icon 2.5 Coilovers
17" Travel Icon Rear 2.0 Resi Shocks
Dual Icon Stabilizers
10" Atlas Springs
Eibach Dual Rate Springs
Custom front driveshaft
Bunch of one-off fab work

Tires & Wheels:
40x15.50x22 NITTO Mud Grapplers
22x14 American Force Wheels

Performance:
H&S MiniMaxx
4" Flo Pro Exhaust w/ Muffler
S&B CAI
Sinister EGR Delete
MagHytec Rear Diff Cover
Ton of Lucas Full synthetic oil

Interior:
RoadWire One-off leather

Exterior & Lighting:
STMW Front and Rear Bumpers
2x40" 1x20" 2x6" Rogue4 LED light bars
STMW LED Grille
Plain&Simple by design custom Headlights painted and with custom glass etching
Strobe Leds in headlights with remotes
SnugTop SL Bed Cover painted to match

Left to do:
Color match grille shell and possibly the bumpers. Audio and navi.
Hub Free Spin Kit
4:56 Gears
Confederate Turbo Kit

The build so far took 6 months to complete. The suspension was one off and had to be build completely off the frame. There is practically nothing stock left on the frame. Frame was sanded and re painted as well as the axles. I drove it home from Austin to Houston (3 hours) and at 70mph it was extremely smooth for such a large truck.

Hope you guys enjoy

Very beginning, day I drove it off the lot:

Then i got tired of stock tires and threw on some 35" Federal MTs

Soon after that I decided it needed a lift and went with a 3" RCX Suspension Lift

Of course; that didn't satisfy since I really missed my 1500 on the 37s. So I ordered my 40" Nittos and 22" American Force wheels. Before even deciding on the lift.

After I had my tires and wheels the lift began.

First was creating a high mount coilover system to house the 14" Icon coilovers

Then we decided on a full subframe lift

Figured since the whole truck was taken a part, why not just sand blast and paint the axles.

And that was 5-6 months of measuring and fabricating.

I wondered just the other night what had happened to you

Looks like your project vehicle is a real eye catcher & being as it rides good is a bonus

Good Luck at the SEMA Show

Wow dude!

How was the MPG on the ride home? Not that it matters when you build a truck like this..... But more so curious.

Beautiful rig even if it isn't a Ram. Kudos on all the hard work and pulling it all together. I can only imagine how much you must have invested in all that custom work.

Sorry I gotta say it though....I like the Ram in your sig pic better.

I averaged about 12 last night. If I change out the gears that'll make a huge difference.

Ya if the ram in my sig had been diesel I may have never gotten rid of it. But gas only excites me so much.
