Oil is oil pretty much. I stay away from mobile for ethical reasons.
To an extent, this is true, but to another extend it's not at all true. And what do you mean you stay away from mobile for ethical reasons? Just looking for clarification as I didn't understand.

I have mostly used mobil, but recently have switched to amsoil (for no reason due to poor performance of the mobil brand or anything like that). IMO mobil, amsoil, and royal purple are all about equal, but I have switched due to availability and pricing and such...

Ethics such as business decisions and things like that, also Mobile is pretty expensive but I'm sure it is of quality. Mobile much like many other oil companies have monopolized and have really eliminated compentition usually by buying out. Now I'm speaking in the sense of gasoline not engine oil. Mobile not only sells engine oil buy sells gasoline and they had over years bought out many gasoline selling companies and eliminated competition well excuse me not really eliminated it but dramatically decreased it.

I was using RP in my 2009 Journey, but the store I was buying it from stopped stocking it. Said something about not being certified by API, not sure. I started using Mobil 1 full synthetic. I kept that in the RAM, I did however use Amsoil in the RAM last oil change. I had the oil changed at a Belle Tire.

http://webpages.charter.net/bosorio/MotorOil.doc

This is definatley worth the read!!
I don't think it matters as long as its API approved.

I think I'm going with 0/20 syntech. Unless anyone can talk me out of it. I just read this this weekend.

So I ended up with Mobile 1 0-20 and it's made a huge difference over 5-30 Dino oil.

Castrol has been my staple oil, but Mobil 1 is probably going to be my choice for this truck
