Default Donating truck, but through who?

Hey guys,

So I decided I'm going to donate my 2001 1500 v6, but I am having trouble deciding who to go through to donate it. I prefer a non-profit that will give it to a military family or low-income family. I looked at some local agencies near me but they actually make the families BUY the truck and that's not what I want at all.

Any of you guys/gals know a good company to donate to with a good track record?

I believe the American Kidney Foundation accepts vehicle donations. My wife is on dialysis, I can vouch that they are a good organization. Perhaps check with local DAV . Not that I'm a fan, but public radio/TV also accepts vehicles. Good luck, whatever you do.

The Purple Heart Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Military Warriors Support Foundation, and Disabled American Veterans all accept vehicles as donations. They give you a reciept for the vehicle blue book, and then they sell it for funds to help vets and their families, or in some cases, they donate the vehicle (if its in good shape) to a lucky Vet in need.

Ended up getting a hold of the American Kidney Foundation first, they are going to pick it up second Saturday of March. Putting a new battery in it, air filter, oil change and coolant flush in the meantime. Battery has been in the truck since 2011 lol
